At about 06:42 hours on 9th April 2020 the Nigeria centre for disease control affirms that the ongoing headline news claiming that they spent 1billion Naira on sending SMS to educate Nigeria in this pandemics is nothing but fake news and such should be disregard .they went further to clear the air by explaining how the SMS is being sent, according to NCDC the SMS messages sent to Nigerian by the board (NCDC) is free of charge as MTN Nigeria, AIRTEL Nigeria and GLO have offered free SMS as their on supports to curb the pandemic.
Consequently, some Nigerian reacted positively in this regard and some even stressed at length by criticising other network provider like 9mobile and co for not being a part of these great offer

Earlier before now Nigeria Centre For disease control and Ministry of Health joined with World Health Organization warned seriously on spreading fake news on the pandemic for it will only create fear and tension to the people not solution in this regard any one caught will face police prosecution .
